Baseball Recap: New Hope-Solebury Takes a Loss

New Hope-Solebury lost against Upper Moreland on Tuesday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Lions took a 5-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bears. The Lions have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

New Hope-Solebury got a good showing from Gavin Caponegro, who pitched 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Caponegro has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, New Hope-Solebury saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Blake McCagg, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.

New Hope-Solebury's loss dropped their record down to 6-11. As for Upper Moreland, their win was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-7.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Bears beat New Hope-Solebury by a score of 10-6 on Monday.
