Football Recap: Woodland Wolfpack vs. Eagle's Landing Christian Academy Chargers
Friday just wasn't the day for Woodland's offense. They had to suffer through a 27-0 loss at the hands of the Eagle's Landing Christian Academy Chargers. The Wolfpack were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Chargers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.
Ian Aj Dacosta Jr threw for 60 yards on nine of 21 attempts. On the ground, Courey Bryan rushed for 86 yards.
Cason Carrigan had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 140 yards and a pair of scores while picking up 8.2 yards per carry, and also throwing for 111 yards and one touchdown while completing 83.3% of his passes for Eagle's Landing Christian Academy. The dominant performance also gave Carrigan a new career-high in passer rating (123.6). Aidan Mathews did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 98 receiving yards.
Woodland's defeat dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Eagle's Landing Christian Academy, they picked up their first road win, bumping their record up to 2-3.
Woodland and Eagle's Landing Christian Academy will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next matchups. The next time the Wolfpack see the field they'll take on Hampton at 7:30 p.m. on the 26th. As for Eagle's Landing Christian Academy, their break will end when they face McDonough at 7:00 p.m. on the 26th.
