Baseball Game Preview: Central Catholic Rams vs. Nelson

For the second straight game, Central Catholic will face off against Nelson. The Rams are taking a road trip to take on Nelson at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Central Catholic's pitching crew has only allowed 2.8 runs per game this season, so Nelson's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Nelson will face off against a team with plenty of momentum: Central Catholic extended their winning streak to three on Friday. The Rams walked away with a 6-2 win over Nelson.

Sam Smith made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out ten batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits (and only one walk). He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one triple. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.

Nelson's loss dropped their record down to 10-10. As for Central Catholic, their victory bumped their record up to 12-8.
