It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Byron Nelson had no problem doing just that on Thursday. They won by a run and slipped past the Boswell Pioneers 5-4. This was payback for the Bobcat, who suffered a 2-0 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Byron Nelson is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-9-1 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games. As for Boswell, the loss snapped their winning streak at eight games and leaves them with a 27-5 record.

Byron Nelson will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Pioneers: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
