Softball Recap: Shawnee Snaps Seven-Game Streak of Wins on the Road

Shawnee easily dispatched New Bremen on Thursday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. The Indians fell just short of the Memorial Roughriders by a score of 3-1 on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Indians have suffered since April 12th.

Shawnee saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Anna Menke, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one double.

Shawnee's loss ended a seven-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-9. As for Memorial, they pushed their record up to 8-3 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.

Coming up, Shawnee will host Van Wert at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Memorial has already played their next matchup (against Coldwater), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
