Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only West Ranch walked away with it. They won by a set and slipped past the Orange Lutheran Lancers 3-2. Winning may never get old, but the Wildcats sure are getting used to it with their sixth in a row.

The match came down to the wire multiple times:three sets needed extra rallies to declare a winner. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-27, 25-22, 26-28, 26-24, 15-13.

Devyn Kobe paced West Ranch's offense, picking up 27 kills. Kobe got some help from Dani Clewis and her 48 assists. Finally, Clewis was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high six blocks.

When it comes to explaining why Orange Lutheran lost on Wednesday, don't look at Kenzie Houston. Despite the final result, she had 16 digs and two aces.

West Ranch's record now sits at 24-5. As for Orange Lutheran, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 26-11 record this season.

West Ranch has already played their next match, a 3-0 win against JSerra Catholic on the 1st. Orange Lutheran does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
