Newark waltzed into their contest on Thursday with 11 straight wins... but they left with 12. They came out on top against the Hinckley-Big Rock Royals by a score of 2-0. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 2-0 last Friday.

Newark easily took the second set, but they let things get interesting in the other. The final score came out to 25-19, 25-13.

Their offense was headlined by Rylie Carlson and Zoey Carlson, who picked up eight kills apiece. They got some help from Taylor Jeffers and her 11 assists. Zoey was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

Newark's victory bumped their record up to 24-3. As for Hinckley-Big Rock, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-14.

Coming up, Newark will be taking part in a tournament against St. Joseph-Ogden at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Hinckley-Big Rock, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Earlville at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
