Volleyball Recap: Steele Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Steele, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Wednesday. They had just enough and edged out the Normandy Invaders 3-2 on Thursday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Comets have posted since March 15th.

It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Steele got the one that really mattered. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 20-25, 25-13, 23-25, 15-6.

Jake Penano went supernova, getting 20 digs and three aces. Those 20 digs gave him a new career-high. David Lewis was another key player, getting four digs and two aces.

The victory got Steele back to even at 6-6. As for Normandy, they dropped their record down to 0-3 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.

Steele has already played their next contest, a 3-1 win against Northview on the 12th. As for Normandy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 3-0 loss against Avon on the 15th.
