Several commitments and signings late last week helped reshape MaxPreps.com's look at the nation's top college basketball recruiting classes.

Kentucky, with five Top 100 pledges and four of the Top 25, remains No. 1, but programs like Syracuse and North Carolina are on the rise after securing key targets during the early signing period, which comes to a close Wednesday.

Here's a recap of Friday's developments;

* Four-star forward Tyler Roberson of Roselle Catholic (N.J.) was the first to render his decision live on ESPNU, picking Syracuse over Kansas and Villanova. Roberson is the fifth 2013 prospect to declare for the Orange.

* Five-star guard (No. 16 overall) Isaac Hamilton of St. John Bosco (Bellflower, Calif.) teased UCLA fans by appearing in the school's colors, but ultimately went with UTEP over the Bruins and UNLV.

* Four-star center (No. 42 overall) Kennedy Meeks of West Charlotte (N.C.) elected to stay in-state to play for North Carolina, picking the Tar Heels over Georgetown.

* Moments after Meeks' decision, four-star post man (No. 51 overall) BeeJay Anya of DeMatha (Hyattsville, Md.) announced he was heading to North Carolina State at a ceremony at the Washington Catholic Athletic Conference school.
