Wakeland is a perfect 4-0 against Turner since March of 2023 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. Wakeland will head out to challenge Turner at 6:45 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Wakeland has five straight wins, Turner has four straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Wakeland will bounce into Wednesday's game after beating Lone Star, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. Wakeland won by a run and slipped past Lone Star 7-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Wolverines have posted since February 27, 2024.

Wakeland got a massive performance out of Claire Schreiner, who fired off two home runs and four RBI while going 4-for-4. Schreiner has been hot, having posted at least one home run the last five times she's played. Another player making a difference was Lauren McIllwain, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and one triple.
Wakeland was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .393. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .375 or higher in seven consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Turner fell victim to Reedy and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They lost 16-0 to Reedy.
Turner saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Grecia De La Garza, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one double. That double was De La Garza's first of the season.
Wakeland pushed their record up to 14-3 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.3 runs over those games. As for Turner, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-6.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Wednesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Wakeland has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.7 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Turner struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 3.8 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Wakeland took their win against Turner in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 17-0. Will Wakeland repeat their success, or does Turner has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
