Softball Recap: Macarthur Snaps Four-Game Streak of Wins on the Road

MacArthur dropped their record down to 13-11-1 on Thursday, which also ended the team's four-game streak of wins on the road. They fell just short of the South San Antonio Bobcats by a score of 2-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bobcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 10-5 back in March.

Kaylin Salazar spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on four hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, MacArthur saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Miranda Lerma, who went 1-for-3 with one double.

As for South San Antonio, the victory was the 11th in a row for them, bringing their record up to 17-6. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.5 runs over those games.

On South San Antonio's side, they also let their pitcher toss all seven innings and she was also dialed-in: Lauren Perez gave up only one earned run on five hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Raena Ramirez, who went 1-for-2 with one home run.

Coming up, MacArthur will take on Burbank on the 26th. As for South San Antonio, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 13-1 victory against Harlandale on the 19th.
