Softball Recap: Enterprise Takes a Loss

Enterprise had lost three straight at home, but on Friday they dropped their record down to 5-14 to make it four. They came up short against the Chico Panthers, falling 13-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 13-0 back in April.

As for Chico, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games. That's provided a massive bump to their 16-10 record this season. Considering they have won ten matchups by more than six runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

For Chico's part, the team relied heavily on Olivia Murphy, who went 3-for-4 with four runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. That's the most hits Murphy has posted since back in May of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Emily Babler, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and two RBI.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Enterprise will take on Anderson at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Hornets are facing the Cubs at the right time seeing as the Cubs are stuck on a 15-game losing streak. As for Chico, they will challenge Foothill at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Cougars will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something the Panthers surely won't give up without a fight.
