Softball Recap: Marianna Takes a Loss

Marianna fell victim to Blountstown and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They came up short against the Tigers, falling 18-0. The defeat leaves the Bulldogs still looking for their first win of the season.

Marianna saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Murphy Mitchell, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.

Marianna's loss dropped their record down to 0-14. As for Blountstown, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 8-10.

Marianna and Blountstown could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings. Marianna will take on Liberty County at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank disadvantage (424 vs. 49). Meanwhile, Blountstown (ranked 245th) will meet Franklin County (ranked 81st) at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
