Baseball Recap: Doherty Comes Up Short

After flying high against Pueblo West on Tuesday, Doherty came back down to earth. The Spartans came up short against the Cyclones on Thursday, falling 12-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Spartans have suffered since March 24th.

Doherty saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Derek Graham, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.

Doherty now has a losing record of 8-9. As for Pueblo West, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-7.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Doherty is set to square off against their familiar foe Vista Ridge at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Pueblo West will take on rival Rampart at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
