Baseball Recap: Mountain Crest Takes a Loss

Mountain Crest fell victim to Bear River and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They came up short against the Bears, falling 6-0. The Mustangs have struggled against the Bears recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.

Rylin Needham was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits. He has been consistent : he hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts any time he's pitched this season.

Mountain Crest's loss dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Bear River, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 6-4.

While Mountain Crest had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
