Volleyball Recap: Davie County Takes a Loss + How To Watch

If Davie County was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Statesville last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The War Eagles fell 3-1 to the Mooresville Blue Devils on Tuesday. The War Eagles were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Blue Devils earlier this season, when they won 3-1.

The loss didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Mooresville scored at least 17 points in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-19, 23-25, 25-17.

Gracie Goodman paced Davie County's offense, picking up 12 kills. Goodman got some help from Isabelle Branham and her 29 assists. Branham was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Reagan Young had a dynamite game For Mooresville., getting 22 digs and three assists. Young is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 13 or more in each of the last four games she's played. Kathryn Adair also deserves some recognition as she served her first aces of the season.

Davie County has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-9 record this season. As for Mooresville, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season.

Davie County wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-1 win against Lake Norman on the 9th. As for Mooresville, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against Statesville on the 9th.
