With a playoff win on the line, Fort Myers rose to the challenge on Wednesday. They escaped with a win against the Cape Coral Seahawks by the margin of a single free throw, 48-47. This was a revenge game for the Green Wave: when they faced off against the Seahawks two weeks ago, they had to take a 55-47 defeat.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Fort Myers to victory, but perhaps none more so than James Michel, who went 7-for-14 on his way to 20 points and five assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Aiden Hardy, who posted 15 points and seven rebounds.

Cape Coral lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Jordan Rucker, who put up 11 points. Another player making a difference was Isaiah Derkevics, who had seven points in addition to ten boards and three steals.

Fort Myers now has a winning record of 13-12. As for Cape Coral, their loss dropped their record down to 21-4.

Fort Myers didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 71-44 defeat against Port Charlotte on the 7th. As for Cape Coral, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 46-40 loss against St. Petersburg on the 12th.
