Basketball Recap: Make It Four in a Row for River View

River View hadn't done well against WestSide recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The River View Raiders strolled past the WestSide Renegades with points to spare, taking the game 62-45. The victory was nothing new for the Raiders as they're now sitting on four straight.

River View's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kaylee Blankenship, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 12 assists. Blankenship is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last nine games she's played. Another player making a difference was Kaci Hatfield, who went 7 of 12 on her way to 15 points and five steals.

Blankenship wasn't the only one working in the assists department: River View was working as a unit and finished the game with 22 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in February of 2024.

River View is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-7 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.5 points per game. As for WestSide, they dropped their record down to 4-10 with the loss, which was their sixth straight at home.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. River View will host Mount View at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. River View is facing Mount View at the right time seeing as Mount View is stuck on a four-game losing streak. WestSide has already played their next game (against Liberty), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
