Basketball Game Preview: Harper Creek Beavers vs. Northwest Mounties

Harper Creek hasn't had much luck against Northwest recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Harper Creek Beavers will head out on the road to take on the Northwest Mounties at 5:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Harper Creek is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They took a 57-53 hit to the loss column at the hands of Central. While losing is never fun, the Beavers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 331st, while the Bearcats are ranked 165th).

Meanwhile, Northwest was beaten by Marshall 69-39 on Tuesday.

This is the second loss in a row for Harper Creek and nudges their season record down to 6-13. As for Northwest, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-12.

Harper Creek was able to grind out a solid win over Northwest in their previous matchup back in January, winning 47-34. The rematch might be a little tougher for Harper Creek since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
