Basketball Recap: Norton Wins Going Away Against Villa Angela-St. Joseph

It's playoff time, and Norton had no trouble coming through when it counted. They took down the Villa Angela-St. Joseph Vikings 66-49 on Tuesday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Panthers.

Several Vikings players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Elizabeth Dunmire, who posted ten points in addition to seven boards and four steals. Dunmire has been hot for a while, having posted three or more steals the last nine times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Sydney Dunmire, who went 5-for-11 to rack up 12 points and seven rebounds.

Norton's record now sits at 14-9. As for Villa Angela-St. Joseph, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-10.

Looking ahead, Norton will challenge Lutheran East at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Lutheran East will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Norton surely won't give up without a fight. Villa Angela-St. Joseph does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
