Basketball Recap: Austin Buckley Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Clifton Central

Herscher won the last time they faced Clifton Central and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Herscher Tigers came out on top against the Clifton Central Comets by a score of 59-50.

Herscher's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Austin Buckley, who went 7-for-15 on his way to 21 points and seven boards. Those seven rebounds gave Buckley a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Tanner Jones, who dropped a double-double with 16 points and ten boards.

Herscher's victory bumped their record up to 12-17. As for Clifton Central, they dropped their record down to 16-12 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home.

Herscher didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 61-45 loss against Peotone on the 19th. Clifton Central has also already played their next contest (against Iroquois West), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
