Manchester Township was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a 33-22 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Toms River South Indians. On the bright side, the 22- point performance marked the Hawks' highest-scoring matchup to date.

Despite the loss, Manchester Township still got an impressive performance from Cameron Longsworth, who rushed for 148 yards and one touchdown on only 15 carries. The team also got some help courtesy of Malik Pharmes, who rushed for 84 yards and one TD.

Manchester Township's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Toms River South, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-4.

Coming up, Manchester Township will venture away from home to take on Monmouth Regional at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Toms River South, they will take on Toms River North at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
