Basketball Recap: Irion County Comes Up Short

If Irion County was riding high fresh off their 63-38 takedown of Meridian on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Irion County Hornets fell just short of the Covington Owls by a score of 61-59 on Friday.

Irion County's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Covington, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-4.

Irion County will venture away from home to face off against Garden City at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Covington, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Bartlett at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday.
