Preview: Island Pacific Academy Navigators vs. Hawaiian Mission Academy Knights
Island Pacific Academy has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will challenge the Hawaiian Mission Academy Knights at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Island Pacific Academy has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
Last Wednesday, Island Pacific Academy beat Lanakila Baptist 45-35.
Meanwhile, Hawaiian Mission Academy was able to grind out a solid win over Central Valley Christian Academy on Thursday, taking the game 40-31. The win was just what Hawaiian Mission Academy needed coming off of a 55-28 loss in their prior game.
Hawaiian Mission Academy can attribute much of their success to Rodnyl Tuscano, who scored ten points along with four steals, and Zion Slade, who scored 16 points along with six rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Slade has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Kailana Tavares, who scored four points along with four steals.
The win got Island Pacific Academy back to even at 4-4. As for Hawaiian Mission Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 9-5 record this season.
Island Pacific Academy might still be hurting after the 54-31 loss they got from Hawaiian Mission Academy when the teams last played on January 10th. Can Island Pacific Academy avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
