Washington gave up the first runs on Thursday, but they didn't let that get them down. They put the hurt on the Deer Valley Wolverines with a sharp 16-4 win. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Huskies also won the last time the pair played back in March of 2024.

Olivia Machuca made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She struck out 11 batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off two hits. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in strikeouts. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 4-for-5 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.
