It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Lutheran had no problem doing just that on Saturday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Cheyenne Mountain Red-Tailed Hawks , sneaking past 3-2. That's more bragging rights for the Lions, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

If you add up the scores from across all five sets (103-101) Lutheran actually scored fewer points, but in the end it didn't matter. The final score came out to 16-25, 25-17, 25-22, 19-25, 16-14.

Lutheran had a senior duo take command as Lola Heimlicher had 16 digs and Liz Mcgriff had nine digs.

Despite the loss, Cheyenne Mountain still got an impressive performance from Brynn Ressler, who had 19 digs. Ressler has been hot , having posted 11 or more digs the last five times she's played.

Lutheran is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 21-9 record this season. As for Cheyenne Mountain, they moved to 20-9 with that defeat, which also ended their five-game winning streak.
