Volleyball Recap: Marist Falls Short Against Ranked Walton

Marist faced Walton in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The War Eagles fell just short of the Raiders by a score of 2-1. The War Eagles were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Raiders earlier this season, when they won 2-0.

Marist's loss came despite strong showings from Sawyer Straley and Addison Lang. Straley had 19 digs and one assist, while Lang had 11 assists and eight digs. Straley has been hot recently, having posted 12 or more digs the last three times she's played.

Ella Cobb was nothing short of spectacular for Walton: she had 29 digs and five assists. That's the most assists Cobb has posted over her last nine matchups.
