A J Morman commands the offense for Knights win

Recap: Sacred Heart of Jesus Knights vs. Trinity Christian Academy Lions

It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but the Sacred Heart of Jesus Knights ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They slipped by Trinity Christian Academy 71-70. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.

Sacred Heart of Jesus' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from A J Morman, who scored 31 points along with seven assists and six rebounds. Morman has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Keelan Johnson, who scored 23 points along with five rebounds.

Several Lions players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Brayden Waller, who scored 18 points along with five assists and four steals. Kaleb Williams was another key contributor, scoring 17 points along with five assists.

Speaking of assists, Trinity Christian Academy were working as a unit and finished the game with 24 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Sacred Heart of Jesus now has a winning record of 9-8. As for Trinity Christian Academy, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 14-6.

Sacred Heart of Jesus will head out on the road to square off against Fayette Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Fayette Academy will be looking to keep their four-game home win streak alive. Trinity Christian Academy will take on Jackson Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Jackson Christian and Trinity Christian Academy are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads.
