Basketball Recap: Thomson Skates Past Josey with Ease

Thomson won the last time they faced Josey and things went their way on Friday too. The Thomson Bulldogs really took it to the Josey Eagles for the full four quarters, racking up a 77-33 victory. Given the Bulldogs' advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 216th, while the Eagles are ranked 454th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Thomson's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jaris Sinkfield led the charge by putting up 20 points. Sinkfield continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Markevion Jones, who posted 16 points.

The win made it two in a row for Thomson and bumps their season record up to 9-7. As for Josey, their loss was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-12.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Thomson will take on Laney at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Josey, they will face off against Butler at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
