Basketball Game Preview: St. Andrew's Episcopal Lions vs. Lansdale Catholic Crusaders

The St. Andrew's Episcopal Lions and the Lansdale Catholic Crusaders will compete for holiday cheer at 3:55 p.m. on Sunday. The two teams are strolling into their matches after big wins in their previous games.

St. Andrew's Episcopal is headed into the contest after thoroughly thrashing McLean: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that St. Andrew's Episcopal blew McLean out of the water with a 59-12 final score. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 35-7.

Riley Knakmuhs was a one-woman wrecking crew for St. Andrew's Episcopal as she almost dropped a double-double on 18 points and nine steals. With that strong performance, Knakmuhs is now averaging an impressive 3 steals per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Sara Holzman, who posted 14 points in addition to five rebounds and four steals.

St. Andrew's Episcopal smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive boards in four consecutive matches.

Meanwhile, Lansdale Catholic put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They were the clear victor by a 58-36 margin over South Garner. The Crusaders' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

The win got St. Andrew's Episcopal back to even at 2-2. As for Lansdale Catholic, their victory bumped their record up to 4-0.
