Basketball Recap: Mercer Island Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Mercer Island and Liberty squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Mercer Island had to settle for second. They took a hard 51-37 fall against the Liberty Patriots. The Islanders were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Patriots apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Mercer Island lost, don't look at Anna Marsh. Despite the final result, she posted 12 points and three steals.

Mercer Island's defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 6-14. As for Liberty, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season.

Mercer Island didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 59-49 win against Inglemoor on the 13th. As for Liberty, they have also already played their next contest, a 53-47 victory against Bellevue on the 13th.
