Preview: Norfolk Panthers vs. Columbus Discoverers
The Norfolk Panthers will head out on the road to take on the Columbus Discoverers at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Norfolk will be strutting in after a victory while Columbus will be coming in after a loss.
Norfolk scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Saturday. They blew past Buena Vista 71-47. Norfolk pushed the score to 53-31 by the end of the third, a deficit Buena Vista had little chance of recovering from.
Norfolk got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Tasha Eisenhauer out in front who scored 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Skylar Indra, who scored 17 points.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 57 points the game before, Columbus were a bit more limited in their match on Tuesday. They were dealt a 59-24 defeat at the hands of Lincoln Southwest. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Columbus in their matchups with Lincoln Southwest: they've now lost five in a row.
Norfolk's victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-13. As for Columbus, they now have a losing record at 9-10.
Norfolk ended up a good deal behind Columbus in their previous meeting back in January of 2023, losing 52-37. Can Norfolk avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
