After flying high against Fort Mill last Monday, Clover came back down to earth. The Clover Blue Eagles took a blow against the Northwestern Trojans on Friday, falling 57-23. The Blue Eagles haven't had much luck with the Trojans recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.

Finley Polk was his usual excellent self, throwing for 319 yards and four touchdowns while completing 72.4% of his passes, and also rushing for 63 yards and three touchdowns for Northwestern. Polk is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in the last three games he's played dating back to last season. Jayden Nichols was in the mix as well, providing Northwestern with two touchdowns.

Clover's defeat dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Northwestern, the victory for them keeps them at an undefeated 7-0.

Clover will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Indian Land at 7:30 p.m. on October 18th. As for Northwestern, they will face off against Fort Mill at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The timing isn't great for Fort Mill: they have been struggling with three straight losses at home, while Northwestern has snatched up nine consecutive wins on the road dating back to last season.
