Softball Recap: Petaluma Trojans vs. American Canyon Wolves

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Petaluma can now relate to. They lost 15-5 to the American Canyon Wolves on Wednesday. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Wolves this season, with their most recent defeat being a 12-2 loss two weeks ago.

Scarlett Fannin was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one run and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Taylor Pellonari, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Petaluma's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 13-11-1. The slump could be explained by some tough opposition over that stretch, namely American Canyon, they, and Vintage. As for the Wolves, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 18-3.
