Volleyball Recap: Downers Grove North Takes a Loss

Downers Grove North lost against Lincoln-Way East back in September of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Trojans took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Griffins. The Trojans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 25-19.

Kelley Crowley paced Downers Grove North's offense, picking up six kills. Crowley got some help from Ellery Cabaj and her ten assists.

Lincoln-Way East's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Charlotte Buck, who had 11 digs and two assists. Buck is crushing it when it comes to digs: she's had at least 11 every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Maggie Simon, who had 11 assists and five digs.

Downers Grove North's defeat dropped their record down to 5-2. As for Lincoln-Way East, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-4 record this season.

Downers Grove North didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-1 win against Lyons on the 9th. As for Lincoln-Way East, they have also already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Rock Island on the 5th.
