Softball Recap: Decatur Extends Road Winning Streak to Four

Gobles typically has all the answers at home, but on Thursday Decatur proved too difficult a challenge. They were the clear victors by a 17-10 margin over the Tigers. The Raiders might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 14 matchups by seven runs or more this season.

Sienna Potter was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. She has been hot recently, having also posted at least one stolen base the last four times she's played. Gracie Smith also deserves some recognition as she launched her first home run of the season.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Decatur kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 19 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in eight consecutive games.

Decatur pushed their record up to 15-9 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.8 runs over those games. As for Gobles, their defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 19-4.

Decatur will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Tigers: the pair will be back at it again later today.
