Volleyball Recap: Iola's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Tuesday

It was a good run, but Iola unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell 3-1 to the Montgomery Bears. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Bulldogs of the 2-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in August of 2024.

Iola was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Montgomery work for it, especially in the first set. The final score came out to 26-24, 25-17, 23-25, 25-15.

Montgomery can attribute much of their success to Kenzie White, who had 16 digs. Those 16 digs gave White a new career-high. Alayna Alwell was another key player, getting four digs and four aces.

Iola's loss dropped their record down to 5-2. As for Montgomery, their victory bumped their record up to 8-4.

Looking ahead, Iola will take on Hudson at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Montgomery, they will face off against Klein Oak at 8:00 a.m. on Thursday.
