Basketball Recap: Buena Finds Playoff Glory Versus Chaparral

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Buena walked away with it. They walked away with a 68-57 victory over the Chaparral Firebirds on Friday. The win was nothing new for the Colts as they're now sitting on six straight.

Buena had a senior duo take command as Jamin Booker went 8-for-13 on his way to 22 points and three steals and Jesus Pacheco went 8-for-13 en route to 20 points. Booker is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 45% in the last 20 games he's played. Another player making a difference was Kingston Clarke, who posted seven points.

Buena's victory was their tenth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 21-5. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.1 points over those games. As for Chaparral, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last ten games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-19 record this season.

Buena will be playing at home against Horizon at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Buena knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 14 matches -- so hopefully Horizon likes a good challenge. Chaparral does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
