Basketball Game Preview: Evans Knights vs. Effingham County Rebels

The Evans Knights will head out on the road to face off against the Effingham County Rebels at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Evans has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

Evans is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They took a 77-69 hit to the loss column at the hands of Greenbrier on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Knights can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 296th, while the Wolfpack are ranked 145th).

Meanwhile, Effingham County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 57-50 to Lakeside.

Evans has traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-12 record this season. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.5 points per game. As for Effingham County, their loss dropped their record down to 7-12.

Evans came up short against Effingham County when the teams last played two weeks ago, falling 51-39. Can Evans avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
