Basketball Game Preview: Linganore Lancers vs. South Carroll Cavaliers

Linganore is on a six-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), while South Carroll is on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. Having just played yesterday, the Linganore Lancers will get right back to it and host the South Carroll Cavaliers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

On Thursday, Linganore earned a 58-51 victory over Westminster.

Linganore had a senior duo take command as Dylan Hodgson dropped a double-double on 21 points and 11 rebounds and Brandon Donaldson went 9 for 19 on his way to 23 points and three steals. Hodgson's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Cory Clark, who posted six points and five boards.

Meanwhile, South Carroll didn't have too much trouble with Manchester Valley on Tuesday as they won 62-47. The Cavaliers pushed the score to 51-30 by the end of the third, a deficit the Mavericks cut but never quite recovered from.

Linganore is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-6 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.9 points per game. As for South Carroll, their win bumped their record up to 7-4.

Linganore beat South Carroll 62-50 when the teams last played back in December of 2023. Does Linganore have another victory up their sleeve, or will South Carroll turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
