Basketball Recap: Watsonville Beats Rancho San Juan for Their Sixth Straight Win

Watsonville waltzed into their matchup on Wednesday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They blew past the Rancho San Juan Trailblazers 87-63. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 79-66 back in January.

Leon Madec was his usual excellent self, shooting 4-for-6 from deep and dropping a double-double with 37 points and ten boards. Another player making a difference was Max Aceves, who went 6-for-12 en route to 15 points and six assists.

Despite the loss, Rancho San Juan still got an impressive performance from Andrew Hale, who dropped a double-double with 30 points and 12 rebounds. Hale's evening made it 11 games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Abner Galope, who went 5-for-12 to rack up 12 points.

Watsonville's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-6. As for Rancho San Juan, their loss dropped their record down to 13-10.

Watsonville didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 62-51 defeat against North Monterey County on the 14th. As for Rancho San Juan, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 67-57 loss against Marina on the 14th.
