C1 District 10 recap September 4, 2013
Ogallala moved up to 73 from 107 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in C1 District 10. The Indians climbed the ranks as a result of defeating Gothenburg 20-7.
Ogallala made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 6,211 from 9,298. The improvement came about via a 20-7 victory over the Swedes last week.
Chadron's dynamic duo of Tristan Stein and Spencer Elliason proved tough for Alliance to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Stein threw for 235 yards and 2 touchdowns and Elliason had 111 yards receiving. Jackson Dickerson helped Chadron's passing attack out by catching 4 balls for 64 yards.
The Cardinals' dynamic duo of Stein and Elliason proved to be unstoppable against the Bulldogs, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week.
He was 15-40 with 2 interceptions.
Elliason was the best receiver in the league this week as Chadron lost to Alliance.
Stein put up the best numbers through the air as Mike Lecher's team fell to Travis Hawk's team.
Dylan Folchert was the most successful running back in the league this week. In 8 carries, he ran for 62 yards as Jeff Mcbride's team lost to the Bulldogs. Brody Cleveland also contributed to the rushing game with 48 yards on the ground.
Brandon Raffaeli was a key player and the best on defense this week as the Indians bested Gothenburg. The 5-foot-11 sophomore.
Chadron's Stein and Elliason have formed a dream team this season, leading C1 District 10 in both passing and receiving yards. Stein has thrown for 235 yards this season, while Elliason, a 6-foot-8 receiver, has 4 catches for 111 yards. Folchert from Ogallala leads the league in rushing with 62 yards.
The Cardinals lost in the closest game of the week to 21-20 Alliance. Stein was a bright spot for Chadron, as he ran for 41 yards in the loss.
