Softball Recap: Prout Crusaders vs. East Greenwich Avengers

Prout put another one in the bag on Wednesday to keep their perfect season alive. They skirted past the East Greenwich Avengers 6-5. Prout had a rough season last year, but they look ready to turn that poor record around this year.

Lucy Kaiser spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and three unearned) runs on eight hits and racked up seven Ks.

On the hitting side, Molly Green was incredible, going 2-for-2 with two runs, a triple, and a double.

On East Greenwich's side, Ava Fairbanks was huge no matter where she played even without the win. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over six innings pitched. Fairbanks has been consistent recently: she hasn't pitched less than five innings every time she's pitched this season. Fairbanks was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with a home run.
