Basketball Recap: Prince George Takes a Loss

Prince George was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They took a blow against the Atlee Raiders, falling 78-44. While losing is never fun, the Royals can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 372nd, while the Raiders are ranked 16th).

Prince George's loss dropped their record down to 1-15. As for Atlee, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Prince George and Thomas Dale will face off at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday without much rest having both just played. Thomas Dale has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Atlee, they and Highland Springs will face off at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday without much rest having both just played. Highland Springs knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past ten contests -- so hopefully Atlee likes a good challenge.
