Baseball Recap: East Mecklenburg Takes a Loss

If East Mecklenburg was riding high fresh off their 15-0 takedown of Rocky River on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Eagles took a 5-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Charlotte Catholic Cougars on Tuesday. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Cougars this season, with their most recent defeat being a 13-0 loss on April 10th.

East Mecklenburg has also been struggling recently as they've lost 11 of their last 12 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-15 record this season. As for Charlotte Catholic, they are on a roll lately: they've won 15 of their last 18 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-4-1 record this season.

East Mecklenburg does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Charlotte Catholic, they will challenge Providence at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Panthers' pitching crew has only allowed 2.5 runs per game this season, so the Cougars' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
