Softball Recap: Houston Hawks vs. Homer Mariners
Houston extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 17 on Saturday, dropping their season record down to 0-4 in the process. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Homer Mariners. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Hawks of the 11-8 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.
As for Homer, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-4. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.5 runs over those games.
For Homer's part, their win was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Amanda Toci, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one double and one RBI.
