Basketball Recap: Sage Larson's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Arapahoe over Alma

Arapahoe was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 47-27 to the Alma Cardinals. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Warriors of the 74-36 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2024.

Arapahoe lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Sage Larson, who posted 12 points. That's the most points Larson has posted since back in December of 2023. Emma Strand was another key player, putting up six points and six boards.

Alma found their leader in sophomore Kamryn Scott, who had 16 points along with five assists and four steals. Scott has been hot recently, having posted four or more steals the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Tierston Moore, who went 5 of 9 en route to 12 points and six steals.

Arapahoe's defeat dropped their record down to 12-8. As for Alma, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-4 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Arapahoe will take on Brady at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Alma, they will square off against Southern Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Alma is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 56.9 points per game this season.
