Volleyball Recap: Barnstable's Winning Streak Snapped at Four Games

It was a good run, but Barnstable unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-match winning streak on Tuesday. They fell 3-1 to the Westborough Rangers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Red Hawks of the 3-2 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

The match finished with set scores of 25-9, 21-25, 25-23, 25-15.

Ava Johnston paced Barnstable's offense, picking up 15 kills. Johnston got some help from Nicky Murphy and her 25 assists. Jazzy Coyer and Molly Colantuono kept things locked in from the service line: the pair finished with three aces apiece.

Leila Ditullio was nothing short of spectacular for Westborough: she had 16 digs and eight aces. That's the most aces Ditullio has posted since back in September.

Barnstable's loss dropped their record down to 10-8. As for Westborough, they pushed their record up to 12-2-1 with the win, which was their third straight at home.

Barnstable has already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against Bridgewater-Raynham on the 22nd. As for Westborough, they will host Wachusett Regional at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday.
