Basketball Recap: Carter Johnson Key Part of a Team Effort in Titans Win

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Cypress, Colony was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 41-39 win over the Sonora Raiders. The score was all tied up 21-21 at the break, but the Titans were the better team in the second half.

Colony's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Carter Johnson led the charge by almost dropping a double-double on 15 points and nine rebounds. Desmond Flanagan was another key player, going 5 for 9 on his way to 12 points and seven rebounds.

Colony's victory bumped their record up to 4-7. As for Sonora, their defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-8.

Colony and Sonora could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps California Rankings. Colony (ranked 614th) will meet Skyridge (ranked 21st) at 8:00 p.m. on December 26th. Meanwhile, Sonora (ranked 903rd) will meet La Habra (ranked 14th) at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
