Baseball Recap: Grand Terrace Drops Season-High Score on Eisenhower

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Grand Terrace). They were the clear victors by a 15-1 margin over the Eisenhower Eagles on Wednesday. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Titans with their most commanding win of the season.

Lawrence Bonilla was a major factor no matter where he played. He tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Grand Terrace is 7-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 7-10 otherwise. Bonilla was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with two runs. Those two runs gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Lucas Palos, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Vann Morris, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and one RBI.

Grand Terrace was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .409. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

The victory (which was Grand Terrace's third in a row) raised their record to 14-11. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.7 runs over those games. As for Eisenhower, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-13.

Grand Terrace has already played their next contest, a 4-3 victory against Chino on the 16th. Eisenhower does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
